To be successful in this role you will need:
- Full Right to Work in the UK
- Level 2 NVQ or higher, although a level 3 is desirable.
- Experience of managing a team
- 2+ years’ experience of working in care
- To be fluent in English
- To possess a full UK Driver’s Licence and have access to your own car
- A kind and nurturing personality
- To be able to remain calm under pressure
We are seeking a full-time Team Leader to work within our Supported Living services across the Southampton and Fareham areas. This role supports adults with complex learning disabilities, autism, and associated needs to live fulfilling lives in their own homes. If you have experience leading teams in supported living or complex care, we would love to hear from you.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring outcome-focused, person-centred support is delivered consistently while promoting independence, choice, dignity, and positive risk-taking. You will oversee the day-to-day quality of support within your locality and ensure the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of the people we support.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Provide effective leadership, supervision, and guidance to Support Workers, ensuring they deliver high-quality, consistent support in line with individual support plans, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, and organisational values.
Person-Centred Support Planning
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and review of person-centred support plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans, ensuring support reflects individuals’ communication needs, capacity, sensory preferences, and personal outcomes.
Quality, Compliance, and Safeguarding
- Ensure support is delivered in line with the Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding procedures, CQC regulations, and best practice in supported living. Promote dignity, rights, and tenancy-based support at all times.
Multi-Disciplinary and Stakeholder Communication
- Act as a key point of contact between Support Workers, senior management, families, commissioners, and multi-disciplinary professionals including social workers, psychologists, and healthcare teams.
Staff Development and Competency
- Assess, monitor, and develop staff competencies through observations, supervisions, and ongoing training, ensuring staff are confident in areas such as complex needs, communication methods, PBS, and risk enablement.
Service Oversight and On-Call
- Support the smooth running of supported living services within your area, including rota support where required. Participation in the on-call rota is required and is paid in addition.
